Glazed Spiral Ham

Spice up your holiday with this easy glazed spiral ham from Saporito Kitchen. Smothered in a sweet and spicy glaze made with maple syrup and Miller's Banana Pepper Sauce, this baked ham is moist and cooked to perfection.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8-10 lb. spiral cut ham

  • 1 bottle Miller's Hot Banana Pepper Sauce

  • ¾ cup pure maple syrup

  • ¾ tsp. ground nutmeg

  • ¾ tsp. ground cloves

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 300˚ and place the spiral ham, cut side down in an oven safe baking dish.

  2. Cover the ham and baking dish tightly in foil and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes per pound until the internal temperature of the ham reaches 140˚ when checked with a kitchen thermometer. (For example: An 8 pound ham will take approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours)

  3. While the ham is cooking, whisk together the banana pepper sauce, maple syrup, ground nutmeg and cloves and set aside.

  4. When the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140˚, remove the foil and using a pastry brush, spread the glaze over the entire ham, making sure to spread it in between the slices of ham.

  5. Increase the oven temperature to 400˚ and place the glazed ham back in the oven, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes until the ham is browned on the outside.

  6. Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving it.
